After a meeting with members that were able to join me with the nasty ice storm weather, we came to a few conclusions. I will list them as we go. First though I want to thank Shelly, and Keith as well as Greg and Mike for joining me.Each brought some great ideas and certainly helped me understand better whet many of yo may want. That said 5 of us represents only about 30% of the membership. So as I write this I know we need a bit more dialogue to "get it right."

Of the five that met Mike was the only one not a card carrying CLR member. I think he will be joining us very soon. After some slipping a sliding we met in my basement hideaway and some fun, frank discussions. Lets go over some of the points.

1. How "organized" do we want to be?

This was a resounding "As little as possible". In fact, other than me as the guy who would operate the site, we seemed to all want to avoid Officers and the like. Event planning would remain a "If you want to do it - plan it" group, and we would offer help to get your ideas to the site forums and on teh calendar.

Along these same lines - we want to avoid any legal entanglements for events we might plan. Would insurance be needed - does GMRoadster have any guidelines we could use or even a model we could implement.

2. Getting the club to grow.

This set off a flurry of willing people (everyone present) to grab good supplies of CLR cards. Everyone was going to talk up the club to their local Saturn and Pontiac dealers as well as wiper blade any Sols or Skys parked around their areas.

In the end I will confer with GMRoaster for any help or ideas they might have - I'll pass that along as I get it. In the mean time - let's do a few things

We need to use this site as out planning site. If we are going to do something, this site will be less crowded as well as not as easy to hijack planning commentary as an idea gains shape. Once we have dates time etc this then can be moved to other sites to garner interest by outside surces of owners. The biggest would be SkyRoadster and the Solstice forum. But there are others as well. I think presenting a well planned even rather that thrashing it out in public forums, would gather much more interest.

That said let's move to the forums and continue.
